Unfortunately, the Annoyed Librarian will not be joining us for a couple of days, as she has a bad cold. I have chided her about these lapses into gross humanity before, but to no avail. The Annoyed Librarian will return to her normal blogging routine when she can breathe again and remain awake for more than thirty minutes at a time.

I know this sounds gross and disgusting, or at least uncomfortable, but I discovered sinus wash/nasal rinse/call it what you will, last year, and it really works. Don't bother to buy saline solution--make your own.

A martini and Ny-Quil right before bedtime. Works for me.
Sinus wash? It's just salt water. And you basically drown yourself with it on a nightly basis. But it works pretty well...for allergies. I'm not so sure about viruses.
Incedentally, I'd much rather buy the salt packets than make my own. It makes travelling much easier. If there's a liquid solution on the market, I'd think that would be a waste of money.
Anyway, you could try it. If nothing else, once you drown yourself, you'll feel much better. I mean, being dead probably is much preferable to feeling like you're dying. But I suspect the cold will eventually go away, as all colds eventually do. Until then, happy sneezing.
that's IT? just nosewash? the poor woman's under attack by the Ultimate Aggressor (no dialog with virii!!), and all we can do is blow our noses?? I mean, really. A little more sarcastic wit and ironic iconoclasm will do wonders for her recovery. Make her feel warm & fuzzy & everything.
There are no viral infidels in AL. Never! Our initial assessment is that the virus will all die! I blame the ALA - they are marketing for the common cold! God will roast their stomachs in hell at the hands of AL. No I am not scared and neither should you be!
We made the virus drink poison last night and AL’s antibodies and her great forces gave the virus a lesson which will not be forgotten by history. Truly. We're giving them a real lesson today. Heavy doesn't accurately describe the level of casualties we have inflicted.
I can say, and I am responsible for what I am saying, that the viral agents have started to commit suicide under the walls of AL’s vasculature. We will encourage them to commit more suicides quickly.
