Happy Halloween

Halloween is my second favorite holiday after Christmas. Certainly I prefer singing "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" and "Good King Wenceslas" while gobbling turkey and celebrating the birth of Christ, but then again there's nothing quite like dressing up in silly costumes and handing out loads of candy to school children and later basking in the warm certainty that they'll gorge themselves on it and get stomachaches and such. So in honor of Halloween, I'm taking a break from blogging today.

Oh wait, I guess I'm not. Never mind.

Are you sure you're not Florence King?

Luckily you can dress up in a silly costume. My sis-in-law's library will not let anyone wear costumes except for children's services, although they supposedly can celebrate any holiday they want. The director says it's not "professional" to dress up.

He hasn't been to my wife's old public library, they all the branches early to turn the main branch into a haunted house, staffed by all the librarians, parapros, and pages.

Also he hasn't been to her last academic library where she dressed up as Captain Jack Sparrow. Unfortunatley security was called in her and told her to not act as drunk as she was acting. They thought she had few martinies too many.
