Finding Information Efficiently
As my way of promoting intellectual freedom, I'm going to present my director with a proposal that the librarians teach classes specifically on finding pornography more efficiently. Sure, the perverts now are able to find it, but isn't the whole point of being a librarian to make sure that people can find the information they want more efficiently and effectively? And as the ALA has made known for years, it's not our jobs as librarians to judge the information. We have no intellectual standards, and we certainly don't have any taste to defend (look at the way we dress!). All "information" is equal, right?
