Update: Radical Librarians are Iniquitous, too!

A late-breaking update on today's post "The Iniquitous Librarian."

You may have already suspected this, but: Radical Librarians are Iniquitous, too!

From an article on the Radical Reference folks in something called Clamor Magazine:

Melissa Morrone, a NYC coordinator for Books Through Bars who’s active with RadRef, believes the success of the project is based on the passion library workers have for knowledge and helping people. “Just the fact that Radical Reference was formed -- with no commercial purpose, and by people who already have day jobs -- demonstrates that librarians are eager to fill any and all perceived needs in society. This spirit can be added to the phenomenon, experienced by me as well, of off-duty librarians being mistaken for employees of businesses they're patronizing -- we evidently exude the passion to serve! Anyway, the point is that we library workers want to help people and be useful.”

The Annoyed Librarian wants to show you her passion to serve and just exude it all over you!

And as far as being mistaken for employees of businesses I patronize, that happened to me just last week in Lane Bryant! And the Fashion Bug!! And Burger King!!!

I better stop now. I'm not even sure this can be parodied.

Just keep chanting:
I am eager to fill any and all perceived needs in society.
I am eager to fill any and all perceived needs in society.
I am eager to fill any and all perceived needs in society.
I am eager to fill any and all perceived needs in society.
I am eager to fill any and all perceived needs in society.

We just need to change the lyrics to that Barenaked Ladies song:

"You get your LS degree, how happy you will be, when you get a job at Wendy's and are honored with employee of the month."
