Georgia Confidential (for now)

This is really freaky. Last week I posted about a "well-established academic institution" looking for a vague librarian somewhere in Illinois. That "well-established" institution apparently wasn't established well enough, because it has now moved to Georgia. The job is no longer in Confidential, IL, but is in Confidential, GA instead. Exact same stupid ad, exact same url, exact same email contact. Only now it's in Georgia.

Well, they can run all they like, but they can't hide from the Annoyed Librarian. I now know that it's a job that sucks in Georgia instead of Illinois. And so do you.

Recruiters cut and pase their ads for jobs that are in any way similar.

This is not a cut-and-paste job. If you go to the ALA Joblist you'll find that all evidence of this job being in Illinois has been scrubbed and replaced by evidence that this job is, and always was, in Georgia.

We were always at war with Eurasia... or was it Eastasia.

Who wants to move to Illinois in the winter? Come down south to the ATL!

Who wants to live in Georgia, period?!

(I currently live in Georgia)

I'm sure Lewis Grizzard might like to live in Georgia. Frankly, I'd like him to live in Georgia. Because then he'd still be writing columns. Sniff...

But I digress...Why would anyone give up a resume to such an anonymous job listing. That's like saying, "please stalk me."
