Radical Reference Protests: Don't Miss 'Em!

Look out for yet more excitement at ALA in New Orleans! (In addition to the chance of being shot down in the street, of course.) There may be some wacky shenanigans from those Radical Reference folks! They might be putting on their drab gray clothes and protesting something. You know radicals; they like to protest! Heck, everyone likes to gather together in a herd of like-minded individuals and shout stupid slogans! Everyone likes to wave clumsily drawn signs with bold provocative slogans like "I'm for justice" and "Honk if you heart human rights"! March, march, march! Shout, shout, shout! Sure beats coherent thought and rational discourse!

But there may be trouble! As I diligently reported yesterday, the National Guard will be out in force defending the librarians. What if the radical reference protesters get rowdy and break some stuff to release some of the tension they must have from being so selfrighteous and concerned all the time? I hope they leave it at that. I'd hate to see a headline in Cognotes reading "National Guard 4, Radical Reference 0."

On the Radical Reference ALA site it says:

"Stay tuned for info on possibly protests of Madeleine Albright and Laura Bush. "

I won't be touching my dial!

I hope they protest long and loud and make total fools of themselves.

"Make fools of themselves?" That was taken care of long ago.
